Eleanor Odom, Human Resources Director
Eleanor Odom is the Human Resources Director for the SC Department of Mental Health. She assumed this position in 2007 after rejoining the Department in 2005. She first joined the Department in 1990. Almost all of her career has been in state government and HR, having previously headed the HR departments at the SC Department of Commerce and the SC Department of Motor Vehicles.
Eleanor believes that taking care of our employees ensures that they will, in turn, take care of our patients and she has dedicated her time here at the Department to listen and advocate for them.
She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a B.S in Accounting and came to the human resources arena after realizing that she fits the “people person” description. She continues to be passionate about what she does and could not imagine doing anything else.
