As we prepare for possible effects of Hurricane Dorian, make sure to keep track of evacuations, available shelters, school closings, and more at the South Carolina Emergency Management Division.

MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES: If the county government in your area is closed, the SCDMH mental health center or clinic location in that county may be closed also. If you have an appointment that will be affected, center staff will contact you to find a solution or reschedule. Please note that SCDMH inpatient facilities remain fully functional barring evacuation orders, and are staffed by essential personnel during hazardous weather events.

Community Crisis Response and Intervention will remain available to respond to mental health emergencies until/unless it is unsafe for teams to do so. Should that happen, they will triage emergencies by phone. You can reach CCRI 24/7 at this toll-free, statewide number: (833) 364-2274. If you or someone you know has a mental health emergency in Charleston or Dorchester, call Assessment Mobile Crisis at (843) 414-2350.

You can find an up-to-date list of county closures at www.scemd.org or on your local television station.
