Columbia, SC – Crystal A. Maxwell, MD, of Fort Mill, has been appointed to serve as a member of the South Carolina Mental Health Commission, filling the seat for South Carolina’s Fifth Congressional district.

She also holds a physician master’s degree in business administration from Auburn University. Dr. Maxwell is the founder and chief executive officer of LIGHT Family Wellness in Fort Mill, South Carolina, where she also serves as a physician.
“Dr. Maxwell brings not only extensive knowledge as a practicing primary care physician to the SC Mental Health Commission, but also a dedication to providing patient-focused treatment,” said SC Mental Health Commission Chair Greg Pearce. “This treatment philosophy is integral to the mission of the South Carolina Department of Mental Health, and these areas, along with her knowledge of healthcare administration, will make her a valuable addition to the Commission.”
