Aiken-Barnwell Mental Health Center (ABMHC):

- ABMHC will be putting “Hope Kits” in blessing boxes throughout Aiken and Barnwell Counties. Keep an eye out in your community!
- May 9: Staff will be serving light snacks and providing promotional items to patients and guests at each location between the hours of 9-4pm.

AOP Community Mental Health Center (AOP CMHC):

- May 24: 11am – 2pm “Mental Health: Beyond the Stigma” – a FREE mental health resource fair at Anderson County Library. Learn the value of mental wellness and resources available to help on the journey to recovery. Vendors and community partners in attendance.
- AOP staff are promoting MH Awareness by wearing Suicide Prevention shirts each Friday in May.
- AOP will be assisting Hope Missions of the Upstate with providing instant grits. Hope Missions serves breakfast to approximately 80-90 people each day, Monday through Saturday. Hope Missions serves the indigent population and report 85% of the people served have suffered some form of trauma. Our staff will be asked to donate instant grits, if they can, throughout our sites. We will collect throughout May and donate at the end of the month.

- May 26-June 11: Art of Discovery – FREE and open to the public 11am-6pm daily. CDMHC is hosting a 2-week Art of Discovery event, which is part of the Piccolo Spoleto festival at the Circular Congregation Church Upper Lance Hall, 150 Meeting St., Charleston, SC.
- CDMHC is attending an outreach event with the Hope Center, a health fair in Edisto Island, and a mental health awareness event called, “I Rise Above.” Look for these events in your community and join us – we hope to see you there!
