The Department of Mental Health is the 3rd largest healthcare system in the State of South Carolina.
We employ approximately 6000 people to operate:
- Sixteen community – based outpatient mental health centers;
- Clinics which serve all 46 counties in South Carolina;
- Licensed hospitals, including one for substance abuse treatment;
- Nursing homes;
- A Forensics program;
- And a Sexually Violent Predator Treatment Program
We also operate a variety of programs such as Telepsychiatry and School Mental Health Services.
